The website www.siis.net is primarily intended to inform and provide information to the public about the services and products of the Social Information and Research Service (SIIS), managed by the Eguía-Careaga Foundation.

In accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the

processing of personal data (GDPR), the Social Information and Research Service assumes the legal obligations in matters of personal data protection, particularly regarding:

a) The existence of files or data processing containing personal data.

b) The purpose of data collection.

c) The recipients of the information.

d) Whether the information ed is mandatory or optional.

e) The consequences of providing or refusing to provide the data.

f) The possibility of exercising the rights of access, rectification, erasure and objection.

g) The identity and address of the data controller or, where applicable, their representative.

Purpose of Data Processing

The personal data provided by through the various forms on the SIIS website will be strictly necessary, appropriate and relevant for the purpose for which they are collected (responding to queries and suggestions, sending newsletters and/or documents), and will be subject to automated processing.

Data Retention

Data will be retained unless the user exercises their right to erasure. Periodically, may be contacted to confirm whether they wish to continue receiving SIIS information, in order to keep the contact database up to date.

Data Collection

The data processed is provided directly by the interested parties, who authorize its use after being informed. are informed that their data will be included in an automated file for which the Eguía-Careaga Foundation is responsible.

The main types of data processed are: name, surname, and email address.

Data Sharing

Data will not be shared with third-party companies, unless legally required. If such sharing is intended, the data subjects' prior consent will be obtained.

SIIS may use non-European service providers (e.g., Mailchimp – The Rocket Science Group, LLC) for processing (e.g., message delivery), under the EU–US Privacy Shield agreement. Their privacy policy can be consulted on their website.

User Rights

Anyone has the right to know whether SIIS is processing their personal data.

You have the right to access your personal data, meaning you may know which of your data is being processed, for what purpose, and for how long, among other details. You also have the right to the correction of inaccurate or incomplete data, or its erasure when the data is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it was collected.

If your personal data has been made public and the controller is obliged to erase it, you may that the controller take measures to inform others who may be processing your data of your intention to have it erased (right to be forgotten).

In certain circumstances, you may the restriction of processing. In this case, your data may be retained for the exercise or defense of legal claims. If the restriction is lifted, you will be informed accordingly.

In specific situations, you may object to the processing of your data. In such cases, SIIS will stop processing your data unless there are overriding legitimate grounds or the data is needed for legal claims.

You have the right to receive your personal data from the controller in a commonly used, machine-readable format or to have it transferred to another controller.

Data subjects have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
