Help topic areas

The SIIS specialises in all the topic areas that encompass: Social Services and social policy; Older people; People with disabilities; Social exclusion; Drugs and Drug Dependency, Gender and Family, Children and Young people; Volunteers and Third sector.

The user of the website can access its contents either integrally through the Home page or through their specific areas of interest (each of them is a specialised documentation centre in itself). To select a specific area of interest, you just need to choose from the “Topic areas” menu; a gerontologist, for example, will be able as soon as he clicks on “Older people” to look only into contents regarding older people. To go back to the main menu, he then should click on "Back to Home page".

It has to be taken into account, due to the own nature of the contents, that the division of the topic areas does not always work, so it is possible to access the specific content of a particular subject through different sections –in particular, the documents database, reports and studies, press library, latest documents and events- while for the rest of the sections of the website the access is always to the whole document collection.
